What I think about when I run

Bree and I did a 3.6 miler this morning. Our route started at the Marina Park in Ventura and followed Pierpont down to the San Buenaventura State Beach where we took the long way around the park down to San Jon and then turned around and came straight back.

When we got back, we discussed what we think about when we run, especially when we are thinking about running. (I spend a lot of my time disassociating from running and thinking about anything but). Bree thinks a lot about her arms and form and never about her feet. I like think about my feet and listen to each footstrike as I feel myself roll through each step. I sometimes also think about how much distance I travel with each step. I can eat up a lot of running time trying to figure out distance math in my head.

I also fantasize about my boyfriend waiting for me at the finish line. He's there smiling and proud of me and super impressed with my running feats.
